In the same budget you will find
a r9 270 at 155$ http://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemnumber=14-202-090
a fx 6300 at 120$ http://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemnumber=19-113-286
a a 990fx at 105$ http://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemnumber=13-157-281
Its a 380$ killer combo without counting the rebates.
And run all of this games very good mostly at 1080@60 with most features turned on.
Your previous config is way too inbalanced .
Even a r9 260x is at same level as a x4 750k athlon.
A 8120 has more power than you need while 250 x is insuficient for todays game at least in the 1080p sector. 6300 is just over the edge and you dont need more since todays games arent fully mutlicore suport. I expect this combo to last for 3 years...

Lag is more related to bandwidth speed and not graphics. You probably mean low FPS and stuttering. The R7 250 and FX 8100 will be able to run those games at low settings at around 30 FPS @ 1080p.

No not at all you will be forced to run low settings on games such as Battlefield 4 ect... Get a R9 270 for around $140 at microcenter! open box Ive tested many many cards best bang for budget builders would be a $140 R9 270! Then one step up I would suggest a Nvidia 760 for $200 range If you don't have that option I would be happy to help you =] www.facebook.com/overclockatlanta.justinchris

Also I just looked up R7 260X $107.99
