Hey all, sorry if this is the wrong place or something ( Please direct me to the correct place if so. I joined seconds ago :p.

So, I have a HP ProBook 4440s Ci5/4GB RAM/HD4000/Win 8 64 bit (I guess that should give a general idea).

Dedicated video memory is 32MB. I was thinking if I should increase RAM to 8GB.

1) Will that be a good idea? (Any chance of errors etc. possibly showing up later on ??)
And, will it increase my dedicated memory?

2)Is there any other way to make games run better?(Obviously apart from decreasing the texture quality and stuff in-game).

Thanks.

1. If you are using 4gb ram then it will help there and it will have no issues. But it won't increase vram which isn't even the cause of your poor performance. The gpu is just too weak. Btw 32mb is the minimum, it increases dynamically.

2. Turn off anything you can, not just open programs but features and services. Turn off aero.

So I searched around on HP's site and found a Laptop RAM Replacement Guide that applies to your laptop. Read this before upgrading your RAM. This has a lot of great info.

What made you want to upgrade to 8GB of RAM? Was it that your computer was getting slow? Any specific application/game that you want to use?
