Guys so i currently have a AMD 4 core A8-6500 APU. I want to get a GTX 750ti SC. Is this going to bottle neck my system? PS Im planning on upgrading my processor to a fx series 6 core. Last, if I want to record game play/stream will amd or intel be better if the most i have to spend on a cpu is 150$-200$?

Solution
You'll be able to do what you want. Just don't expect to be able to max out every game smoothly while recording/streaming . The FX 6core will not be the bottleneck

Intel is better in general. If your budget is max $200 - you should get an i5-4440. For an AMD CPU to equal or beat that i5 you're looking at an FX-8320/8350 overclocked. And then there's the sad fact that AM3+ is over with Vishera. So no upgrade path for the future as far as any one knows. With the Intel board you can go all the way to the i7-4790k which, when overclocked, trades blows the the much more expensive i7-3930x. Food for thought.

I hate to say it, AMD gives you more bang for the buck. That CPU is going to cost him a lot, but an AMD equivalent, maybe something A8/A10, would cost less and work better. My friend just finished his $400 A8-6600K build, and he gets amazing performance. He payed $90 for the CPU. (on Amazon)

Intel is better, but not be a lot. AMD is cheaper, and they are still amazing.

Honestly, the APU's are virtually useless if you're not using the integrated graphics. OP wants to add a GTX 750 Ti. Even AMD themselves use Intel platforms when they benchmark or showcase a new Graphics card. That tells you something right there.

If your friend uses the IGP on the A8 then he's getting his money's worth. If he plans on using a dedicated GPU then he would have been better off with the Athlon x4 760k and an overclock. But then again, now with the Pentium G3258 out and Asus allowing overclocking on non-Z type motherboards - the Athlon x4 760k is pretty much done.

Especially considering AMD has virtually no upgrade path. If OP wants to go FX down the road, he has to swap out the platform. Any current LGA1150 MOBO from Intel can go from the G3258 all the way to the i7-4790k. For me, not having to swap out a motherboard when upgrading my CPU is reason enough to go with Intel. Even if I'm paying a $10-20 premium. In most cases, you can find the i5-4440 on sale for around $170-180 USD.

All I really want to know is can I record and stream game play after upgrading to amd 6 core 4 ghz cpu and the 750ti at a solid 40 - 60 fps on minecraft. Also will it bottle neck?
