basically I will include parts of a computer I have found that I want to put together to make a GAMING desktop. All I really want to know is if the parts I will list match up together and will properly fit into the desktop chassis and motherboards. Long story short I want to know if all these parts are eligible to put together and create a desktop. Thanks. Alright, here I go:

1. Chassis - XION Gaming Series XON-980-BK Black with red LED

2. Motherboard - Intel desktop board DPL965LT

3. Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3Ghz Oem CPU SLB9J EU80570PJ0806M

4. RAM, 2x8GB

5. Hard Drive - Seagate Desktop HDD 1 TB Internal Hard drive 3.5 inches.

6. Atx 300w power supply.

7. CD/DVD Drive- 24x SATA DVD-RW CD-RW Drive

8. Some net gear network card.

9 Graphics Card - EVGA GeForce GTX 750Ti super lock with G-SYNC Support 2gb Gddr5 128 bit Dual Link DVI I HDMI DP 1.2 Graphics card. (Holy SH!t, I know.)

10. diamond xterm sound XS51 sound card.

11. Mouse

12. Logitech k120 Keyboard - Black

13. Dell 1908FP Black 19inch LCD Computer Monitor Grade A

And that's all folks, thanks for bearing with me. So can all these parts agree with each other and perform as a gaming desktop, yes or no? Thanks Again!

Those are very old components. Are these just components you have already, or are you buying them? What are the specs on the RAM? The RAM will not work with the motherboard. From the motherboard specs it says:

8 GB maximum total system memory using DDR2 667 or DDR2 533 DIMMs
4 GB maximum total system memory using DDR2 800 DIMMs

http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/dp965...

You don't need the extra networking card or sound card. The motherboard has an integrated Gigabit (10/100/1000 Mbits/sec) networking card and a 6-channel sound card.

I'm planning on buying them. I have a budget around 500$ and All of it together is worth about 527$. It's soul purpose is to play video games. PS- first time building a computer so go easy on me :D  And I know, 500$ Is probably a little low budet on a gaming desktop, but I'm trying.

You haven't given any information on the RAM. You won't find any motherboards that old that support 16GB of RAM (2x8GB). 8GB sticks of RAM simply didn't exist in the LGA 775/DDR2 days. Here's an ebay listing for a motherboard, CPU, and 8GB of RAM.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/INTEL-DP45SG-MOTHERBOARD-LGA-77...

I wouldn't go with components this old, though. They are all used and have been out of date for a long time. Give me a few minutes and I'll put together a $500 gaming system with current components. It would also help if you could post all the information in the *How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice* sticky at the top of the forum.

I would still like to know what you're really trying to accomplish with components this old. Do you already own some of the components? If not, you should be looking at current hardware. It would also help to know where you live. I'm searching US sites for components.

I ONLY own the network card and the Power supply. I live in Absecon, NJ. Some of the ram specs are : 2GB 2X 1GB DDR2 533MHz PC2-4200 PC2-4300 DDR2 533 (240 PIN) DIMM Desktop Memory CL 4

And as I said before, It's soul purpose is for gaming. (I will fill out the Upgrade advice sticky now)

If there's a little wiggle room in your $500 budget then here is a nice little system for about $500. I didn't include a keyboard, mouse, monitor, or OS, though.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i3-4130 3.4GHz Dual-Core Processor ($112.49 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H81M-H Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($44.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Avexir Core series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($68.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($54.98 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Video Card ($119.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Rosewill RANGER-M MicroATX Mini Tower Case ($24.99 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: SeaSonic 360W 80+ Gold Certified ATX Power Supply ($61.99 @ Mwave)
Optical Drive: Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE DVD/CD Writer ($14.98 @ OutletPC)
Total: $503.40
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

I don't think I would trust your old 300W PSU. A quality PSU is the key to a stable, long-lasting system. Do you know the model number of the PSU?

Thanks a ton! I gave you my power supply model no. And I was just wondering if you knew a quality monitor and keyboard that can link up to the graphics card and computer?

That is a very tight budget for all the components you need to buy. I guess I can see now why you were looking at used components. Here is a very stripped down system that includes everything you would need, but it goes $100 over budget after mail-in-rebates.

Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($54.98 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: PowerColor Radeon R7 250X 1GB Video Card ($84.99 @ TigerDirect)
Case: Rosewill RANGER-M MicroATX Mini Tower Case ($24.99 @ Newegg)

I tried a Google search for the PSU model number you posted and didn't find any information. Does it have a manufacturer name on the label? I wouldn't recommend using it...
