I bought a new CPU some time in December, it is the AMD FX-4100 3.8ghz processor. I have not done any overclocking nor do I have a reason too. But, the fan has been over working itself for games that do not require much CPU power. Such as Counter Strike Global Offensive. My PC specs are: GPU: Asus Gtx 650ti 1gb, CPU: Fx-4300 3.8ghz processor. Mobo: Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 Micro Atx. PSU: Rocketfish 550w modular power supply. Why does the cpu fan feel the need to run so fast and so loudly?

Solution
The CPU fan is running so fast and loudly because the CPU is very hot. The fan might not be installed correctly, and you may need to remove the CPU fan, remove the old thermal paste with rubbing alcohol, put on new paste, and then re-install the CPU fan.

However, it is more likely that the stock fan is just loud. It gets the job done, but it makes a lot of noise in the process. A better CPU cooler would probably help a lot.
