Hello guys. I am going to build a new PC and i am stuck between

http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=03G-P4-388...
and
http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=03G-P4-288...

I will NOT use water cooling and i will not overclock.
Also their clock speeds mentioned at evga's site are the defaults one or will i have to mess with bios in order to reach those numbers (and if yes will it require water cooling to run at those speeds)?

More about : 780ti dual classified kingpin edition

the kingpin is fully designed for liquid cooling is the world record holder. the classified is almost as good, just minus the liquid nitrogen pot spacing on the pcb, but still the same basic extreme pcb design and more than capable of extreme overclocking with liquid cooling. if you are not going to overclock, skip them both and just get the regular acx model and save yourself some bucks as the core clocks across them are not really enough to notice in gaming...

But by default (no tweaks) isn't Kingpin a little faster than the two others?

Base Clock / Boost Clock:
KINGPIN: 1072/1137
DUAL CLASS: 1020/1085

Since your not overclocking, get the dual classified. The KINGPIN is designed for overclocking strictly, not saying that it's not designed to run without overclocking aswell but the whole point of the kingpin is to overclock. Save the 100$ and get the Dual Classified, the clock difference will barely be noticeable.

the classified is also designed strictly for overclocking, both the classy and kingpin have highly binned gk110 chips powered by the chil8318 14+3 phase voltage controller and the same mosfets and caps. only the msi lightning can come close to the classified, and it is still the second fastest gaming card around.

yes, core clock is everything... but the regular acx superclocked card is boosting to 1072mhz, classy@1085mhz, and kingpin@1137mhz..... thats only a 65mhz difference and is not going to make any noticeable difference in any game, a 13mhz difference if just talking about the regular classified. for the $40 difference between the acx and classy is not worth it unless you consider the classy will easily overclock to 1300mhz+ on air while the regular acx might top out at 1200mhz depending on the silicon lottery. the classy just has a highly binned chip with a second ln2 bios which you can flash to unlock a 200% power limit and also unlock 1.5v on the core with the classified voltage tuner app, the sky is the limit for the classified, and its big brother the kingpin.

I think i am going to pick Dual Classy so i can have a good overclockable card if i decide at the future to overclock it.

Thanks for your answers :)
