Which Version Should I Get?

I will be building a new gaming computer in the near future. I was wondering which Windows OS I should get, Windows 7 or 8? I have 7 right now, on my laptop, and love it, and I have heard bad reviews of Windows 8, so I just don't know. Which one do you have? Which one do you prefer? And which one do you think would be best for a gaming PC?

I got a free copy from school and installed it 4 months ago to check it out, with the full intention of reinstalling Windows 7 after a week or 2. It took a little getting used to at first, but now I would never go back to 7. It's easy to set 8 up the way you like it, and it wasn't hard to figure out. The only thing I've found more difficult is getting way old DOS games to work on it. DOSbox has a hard time with windows 8 for some reason, but I'm an old school gamer lol :-D most people won't have a need for DOSbox, and nowadays GOG.com has all of those incompatibilities taken care of or the references to the fix for them readily available. Good Luck!

I say Windows 8. There really is no reason to put Windows 7 on a new build right now. Most of the problems people have with Win8 are cosmetic and are easily changed. I personally think Win8 makes a ton of things easier to do and access. Also for gaming PCs, I doubt MS DirectX 12 will be supported by Windows 7, and if you want the latest features in your games over the next few years you are going to want that IMO.
