Basically the title. Also, will AMD CPUs work better with AMD GPUs. Will the amount of vram effect game performance or is it just if you want more then 1 monitor.

This is for a gaming PC which will be running BF4, Watch dogs and LoL.

If you're willing to spend a bit more, currently the r9 290 is one of the best options out there, specifically this one. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202103&cm_re=r9_290-_-14-202-103-_-Product

Don't SLI 2GB cards, they will become obsolete very quickly. All that GPU power will be wasted by lack of V-RAM. If you're going to stick to a single 280x, which is still very powerful and can max out just about any game (within reason)...

280x for sure. It's a faster GPU with an extra GB of RAM and for a lower price. Plus, it has much more OC potential than the GTX 770 which is just an already overclocked GTX 680. 3GB is almost necesary for high/max 1080P graphics. I know BF4 on ultra 4xMSAA maxes out my V-RAM on my GTX 680 Lightning. The AMD CPUs with AMD GPUs is complete and utter bologne though. If anything, a high end Intel CPU will run a AMD GPU better than a high end AMD CPU because Intel CPUs are typically better for gaming. There is no magic compatibility that makes either of them better, whichever CPU is better will run better no matter the brand.

The XFX R9 280X DD http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FSC5N66 is by far the best bargain between these two cards right now. The 280X has more raw horsepower and more VRAM. I wouldn't normally suggest XFX but the price is too hard to pass up.

The only way I could suggest the GTX 770 is if you ABSOLUTELY need the features offered by nVidia. Namely, Shadowplay or nVidia 3D. If you don't use or need either of these features or do video editing or rendering work then you have no reason to go the nVidia route.

personally i have had issues time and time again on my AMD gpu's...usually its a driver thing but it pisses me off to no end so i disagree with pretty much everyone above. I would go with the GTX 770....its a more stable card with more stable drivers even if performance is a hair less in some games....some games it will be a hair more ;)

Get outta 2011/2012 man, AMD drivers have been right on for a good while now. The only problem I've ever had was with the lower end APUs recently, but they fixed it already.

I've not had many driver issues with AMD and been using them on and off for about 5 years.

The R9 290x and 290 have heat issues with their stock coolers. Pretty much any r9 280x will run very cool and quiet. The driver issues are old news and no longer apply. What model are you looking at specifically?

I really don't recommend anything from Nvidia at this point due to their ridiculous prices and lack of V-RAM.
