I am trying to install Linux Zorin from a boot disk and dual boot w/ windows 8. I have a aptio bios and when I go to boot up the disk... the cdrom doesn't show up. I do not know what to do. I have restarted the Uefi and everything and I can't get anything to go in my favor :(  help?!

I think you first need to go into bios and disable secure-boot.

Zorin does not support UEFI. Use a real linux distrobution like Linux Mint, Ubuntu, Fedora...

I know that Zorin isn't "real" linux but it's a distro of ubuntu so why wouldn't it work?

Because Zorin does not support UEFI. Literally they have removed the UEFI files....

There's no way to get Zorin to work? How can I remove the UEFI files? If not, is there a way to get windows 8 off of my computer and put Zorin on instead?

Yes. Zorin will not boot unless you enable BIOS compatibility mode (disable UEFI)

In the UEFI configuration settings you can enable the BIOS compatibility mode. This will render your windows installation unbootable.
Install Zorin over your windows installation like normal.

How would I do this?

Consult your motherboard manual. Go into UEFI menu look for option similar to "bios legacy mode"...
