Hey guys, I'm building a new computer, but i don't know what cpu to get, either the i5 4670k or i7 4770k,

-I steam
-Don't render much
-Mostly for gaming

Oh a little more info, im thinking about getting the evga gtx sc acx 770, my mobo would be asrock z87 extreme 4, my ram would be corsair vengence pro (2x 16gb)

Solution
i5 will do more than a good job for gaming and light rendering, just make sure you get the k version to use all of the potential, as far as RAM goes, for extrem gaming these days 8gb is more than enough, for photoshop 50+ layers, video encoding, rendering etc.... 16gb is the way to go, 32gb is really not necessary unless the files you are working with are extremely huge.

buying i7 over i5 will render almost no difference in gaming, here's a benchmark for battlefield 4

the most important thing is to chose the right grafics card, evga gtx sc acx 770 looks quit good, 1500 CUDA cores is a great all purpose addition.
