My problem is one and the same as Kits, except there is no problem with my keys. I looked at the capacitor on the board it is cracked and smells burned as it heats up. It has something to do with the on/off switch on the piano, other than that what other use is it. If it is removed would I still be able to power the piano from the wall? the capacitor is 0.022uF - 250v - MP 125vac. where can I get one? This is my first time on this forum.

(Partial Kits message)
my old Yamaha PF-15 Electronic keyboard I opened it up to see what was actually was causing the smell and I saw that a little rectangular component on the power supply board was bulging and had cracked,

I think the broken rectangle on the power supply is a capacitor because it says 0.022uF on it. All the other capacitors are fine.

How would I go about fixing this? I can solder but not very well.

It's fairly easyt to replace, take not if the capacitor has a + and - terminal so you put the new one in the correct way. get your soldering iron on the pins to melt the solder and pull the capacitor out. Sometimes is hard to melt the solder as many companies are using high temp solder. It should be easy to find a replacement on ebay for a couple dollars.
