Is there any heatsink better than the Evo 212 yet? Like under $50?

I have an amd fx 8350 and have been using the stock cooler but it's too loud. I had been planning on overclocking sometime in the future so I might as well go ahead and buy a heatsink to be able to.

The evo 212 Semmes like the one to beat and since it can he had for like $30 I am wondering what If I could do better as long as it's under $50

The only other topics that asked this that I could find were from. 2013 or earlier

Thanks!

Is that actually better than the Evo 212? It looks like it has less actual heatsink metal and less direct copper connection to the CPU.

Also anyone has a general idea on how much you might be able to overclock with that?

Thanks again.

what is your motherboard? i have an FX 8320 with an ASUS M5A99FX PRO 2.0 and a HYPER 212 EVO. i have extra fans, one behind the CPU socket on the motherboard, and one directly over the CPU VRM heatsink. I cant get more than 4.2 Ghz. The board has 6 power phases for the CPU which is enough for like 4.5/4.6 with better cooling like water you can get 5.0ghz.

Hey thanks for that chart. Looks very useful. (I'm on my phone right now).

I have a GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ ATX
I was told that it would be very good at overclocking.

with 8 power phases for the CPU i think you should be fine. Your active limiting factor will be your cooler. dont expect more than 4.4 on air in my opinion. the second you get a water pump cooler like the Corsair H100i then you will get 4.5+ easily
