Is The AM3+ The Same As The AM3 Processor That This Board Supports

I have the A780GXE/128M motherboard and it says it is AM3 CPU ready. Will this board support the AM3+ CPU's.

Okay that helps a bunch. Is there anyway to use this motherboard and upgrade the processor to be a good gaming system.

or maybe a gpu and psu

It was one i got from a friend that has pasted away. it has 8 gigs of ram installed and i believe it has a 2.8 GHz processor but I'm not sure on that. There is a 300 watt power supply he threw in as a temp. i will be upgrading that to a 550 at least. i have a GTX 460 1GB graphics card for it as well. i will be getting a WD blue 1TB hard drive.
