I have an M5A99FX PRO R2.0 and when i turn it on, nothing happens. no boot or post. so i went in and looked at the motherboard, i saw tha the CPU LED is lit red. i looked on the manual and it means that there is a problem with the cpu or 8 pin connection. i checked the cpu and its been working great for a long time. its the fx 6100. so when i turn on my pc, the fans spin and the lights go on from the mb but nothing else happens. just fans spinning and the red led light is on. i cant figure out if my mb, cpu, or psu is dead

Solution
Reset the CMOS with a screw driver or remove that battery for a bit thats a must when you build a new computer.
Check to see if the 8 pin cpu cables are plugged correctly
Remove 1 component at a time and if it still gives you issues try to update the latest bios from borrowing your friends usb flash drive or hard drive im not sure how its done for asus.

If it comes down to it then check to make sure your cpu is seated properly or check for bent pins that you didn't notice. But if this motherboard worked for you before then try to see if a friend will be able to let you swap parts around to troubleshoot the issue.
