Okay I was going to get the Asus R7 260X but in my local area here in the Philippines, it's currently out of stock.

I wanted the Asus since it has dual fans which basically means, better heatsink and better cooling. Or am I wrong? Also, one that has good warranty and repair services.

I don't want to buy somewhere else and have it shipped. I want to buy it locally so the warranty and other repairs of some sort will be hassle free.

I think what we have are Gigabyte, MSi and Sapphire.

Thanks,
Adrian

Alrighty, but this Sapphire brand has 2 versions. Which one should I get?

I only have 1 monitor which supports VGA I think? The one with a blue port? Also my motherboard has VGA and HDMI.

Can I connect the R7 260X DVI port to the VGA on my monitor? Or do I need some sort of adapter?

Also for future reference if ever I do upgrade my monitor to an IPS one, can I stick an HDMI from the R7 260X directly to the new monitor, assuming it also has an HDMI port?

By the way, I'd also like to know the difference between DVI-D and DVI-I.

Thanks,
Adrian

Digital Visual Interface (DVI) is a video display interface developed by the Digital Display Working Group (DDWG). The digital interface is used to connect a video source, such as a display controller to a display device, such as a computer monitor. The interface is designed to transmit uncompressed digital video and can be configured to support multiple modes such as DVI-D (digital only), DVI-A (analog only), or DVI-I (digital and analog). Featuring support for analog connections, the DVI specification is compatible with the VGA interface.

Okay, sorry for being such a noobie but should I connect the DVI port from the R7 260X to the VGA port(using adapter) on my monitor to get the card to work?

Can I use this same VGA cable from my monitor connected to the mobo and still get the card to work? Or I have to get an adapter and connect it to the card itself?

I just read it, and it sounds a bit stupid. Haha! But that's a serious question.

DVI port is on R7 260x and VGA port is on monitor. Your need adapter for DVI to VGA. Card is installed on the mobo. Mobo has nothing to do with that adapter.

Google DVI to VGA adapter and see what I'm talking about. I'll post an image later on as well for you.

So I can just stick either the HDMI or DVI ports on the card and use an adapter to connect on my monitor?

What resolution will I get? Will it limit the HDMI's/DVI's power because my monitor only has VGA?

Ugh... I'm about to buy today when the clerk says they ran out of stock for the Sapphire. Really bums me out.

Anyway, what they have left is a Powercolor. Is it good enough? Or should I just wait for them to restock their Sapphire R7's?

Thanks everyone for your quick responses. I'm from the Philippines. The 1st store I was planning to buy the card ran out of stock. Not sure when they would restock, but I found another store that offers a little bit cheaper Sapphire OC dual-dvi. Will call them in the morning to confirm.

Exactly, to claim that is one thing, to provide evidence of that is another. Links to such claims are always welcome.
