I cant surf webpages with either firefox or internet explorer.Just Google chrome is able to display webpages. This is not about just browsers but any application that require internet connection is not working.I am not able to download torrents and i could not update my antimalware's database.

I have windows 7 installed on my laptop and i am using an Ethernet cable connection.I ran a complete malware scan with malwarebytes and found no threats

Do you see any automatic network administrator application running?
Check you antivirus or its firewall, if it is blocking the internet for security purposes?
Go to you firewall settings from control panel and check whether only is unblocked and rest are blocked?
Clean the caches and temporary files of all browsers and check. Coz may be your chrome is just showing saved pages ?
Try using the same connection in someone else's comp.
Also try reinstalling torrents to see internet access..

Please open RUN as admin and type msconfig.See if all internet services are running.
2)U might want to uninstall google chrome and try opening apps(ONLY RUN AS ADMIN) which use internet or use other browsers.
BTW did u run network diagnostics?if any error turns up what is it?
