Hi everyone. I hope at least someone out there has had this problem before. So basically what whats going on is in my house, we have Comcast. It works fine, for everyone in my house but me.
Everyone else in my house gets a stunning 70 download speed and 60 upload speed. But for it is a completely different story. Its only for my computer, i always get around 15 - 20 download and upload. this is a big difference from 70 to 60. Here's the weird thing. Steam always goes offline whenever i try to play a game. Enter a Skype call and BAM it works. webpages don't load to fast. Enter a Skype call and BAM loads almost instantly. I play lots of steam games like CS GO and Rust. But whenever I try to play a game with no Skype call, it always makes me go offline.
Lets take CS GO for example, In a Skype call, it loads instantly and I can play a game. In CS GO with no Skype call, I can't do anything on my own. It might be online for 20 seconds, then it will go offline again. I'm not really computer savvy so if this is really an obvious fix, then just share it please. I really don't understand, I have tried putting my priority up in my router, still the same way.
I really need help, I don't understand why this is like this, I have a windows 8 computer and it shouldn't be like this. I have come to a conclusion that it is not my internet, but my computer.
