Tbh I was originally looking at intel as it would be used mainly for photoshop and gaming and I know intel deals with photoshop better then amd, but wasn't sure if cost effective wise if I was getting more for my money with the amd. Although I wouldn't do it much what would be the better build in you opinion for bit of overclocking and would be more future proofed in general?

I believe it'd be better to have the i5 unless you plan on doing heavy multitasking and something along the lines of video editing and what not. Most games are still single threaded, but slowly utilizing more cores/threads. The i5 would still do well in games and photoshop and haswell refresh will probably overclock fairly decently.
