Hi, the XP I had on my Pavillion was damaged and couldn't boot anymore.
I thought it would be fairly straightforward to pop my old XP disc in and reinstall it.

I first tried to see if It might perhaps take Windows 7 but after I selected which drive to install (and deleted all partitions on there) it said that it could not read from my disc.

So I stuck my Win XP disc back in but now it won't even read it. It spins up but says BootMGR is missing press Ctrl Alt & Del to restart. Obviously that is because of the botched win7 install, but It doesn't explain why it won't boot from my win XP disc.

I have tried to install from flash drive. BootMGR still missing.

The only thing I can think of doing is running killdisk on it, but as that cannot be undone I thought I should seek expert help first.

And Yes, I did change the boot priority to boot from DVD drive and USB. (Even though the only option in bios was usb hard drive

It most certainly is not.

But i do find it weird that I can boot my killdisk cd as well as windows 7 but not my XP disc. I tried a friend's disc as well, same prob.
