Hello good people!

Recently, I purchased an Asus X450L; the specs are as follows:

Windows 8.1 64 Bit
CPU: i5-4200U ~1.60GHz (R CPUs), ~2.3GHz
RAM: 4GB
HDD: 500GB
GPU: Nvidia Geforce 820M
DirectX 11

No currently my problem lies in its gaming capability. Having researched before hand and seen displays, I've seen the laptop easily play most games, even if it's just on ~medium to low settings.

However when I run games, it seems that I'm left with terrible FPS in games, especially League of Legends. Even on LOWEST I run on a crappy 45 FPS but then dips to abysmal levels of 10-15 FPS.

Anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I've updated the drivers (which was difficulty due to having to venture through the ASUS help centre) defragmented the hard drive, put the laptop on full performance mode, and even tweaked with the onboard NVIDIA Control Panel (made everything run on GPU)

My only hunch left lies in Windows 8.1. Could it be that 8.1 is interfering with the GPU somehow?

Any help would be appreciated!

First uninstall the drivers completely through a third party application.
First uninstall by CC cleaner. Then use Display Driver Uninstaller in safe mode.
You can google for both the softwares.
Then do a fresh re install of the driver!
.
If you still see the low fps then accept it or overclock your GPU through GPU boost 2.0!
