So thats my question. Can my old but overclocked cpu drive the gtx 780 or do I have to Upgrade? In case I have to, Will an overclocked FX 8350 suffice, or will I have to change my MB to support Intel to get the most out of it card. I have calculated the price difference in the upgrades.
Between the FX 8350 + the gtx 780 it will be 820 dollars. For the Intel cpu, mobo and GTX it will be 1148 dollars. As you can see the difference in price is quite significant. I will mostly be playing games like GTA 5 when it comes out, and wondering if the Intel upgrade is worth it.

My current setup:
Asus GTX 660 TI OC
Cooler master V750S
Asus sabertooth 990 FX R1
Amd Phenom II 955 BE 3.7ghz OC
Cooler master 212 EVO Cooler
Seagate 2tb-Games/storage
WD 320GB-OS
TP-Link WDN4800 Wireless
Sound Blaster Z audio card
Sennheiser HD 558
Cooler master HAF 922
BenQ XL2411Z 144hz 1080p
