Hi, I'm upgrading my current system to future-proof it for a few more years. I plan to OC my CPU as much as I can, as well as my GPU and RAM.

I was thinking of the ASRock Z77 Extreme 4, but open to suggestions :)

My mobo budget is up to £90.

i7 3770 + Noctua NH-D14
16GB DDR3 1600Mhz (x4 4GB)
Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X (plan on getting another to Xfire eventually)

Cheers :)

The asrock z77 is probably the best board for that socket, I don't have it in any systems at the moment but I used it until I saw the rog board bundle deal on newegg a while back. It overclocks nicely and has a good vrm design.

Future proofing with a two-generation old mobo is not viable. Z87 and z97 have come out since z77.

This should be under your bu
  1.
dget, 9 series chipset and great for overclocking.

And Sandy Bridge i7 is overkill for gaming. Check out i5-4690K (Devils Canyon) to go with the Asus Z97A.

Sorry should have mentioned I already have the i7 3770. So it's just a new S1155 mobo I need. I'm now thinking of the ASRock Extreme 6 now. Unless you could suggest a newer chipset socket 1155?

The 4 is the best of the two budget wise, the extreme 6 really isn't worth it. I had the extreme 4 before z87 and before z97 and it still is on my top 5 for my all time favorite boards for overclocking and gaming.
