Ok guys, here my problem. I'm using a GA-78LMT-S2P board with an AMD Phenom II X4 B93 2.8GHZ.
I'm wanting a FX 8320. Is it much of an upgrade? I'm not planning on playin BF4 and things, just Modded Minecraft (mods add lag). I will be recording with fraps too. And my setup now, my computer freezes.

Solution
The FX 8320 is not in the CPU support list for your motherboard.
Here is the link for rev 5.X:
http://www.gigabyte.com.au/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=4125

From this link you can get to the other revisions and then click "CPU support list":

I don't think Minecraft is multithreaded. You are not going to get a great benefit from so many CPU cores.
Consider the FX-6300 instead.

These new CPUs will give you a significant performance increase, both from improved architecture and faster clock speeds.
CPU mark performance:

Phenom II X4 B93 - CPU mark 3293, single thread rating 948

As you can see single thread performance of the FX-6300 or FX-8320 is substantially better than your current CPU.
FX-8320 has a better overall score than the FX-6300, but not in the single thread rating.
Since you can't utilize more than 6 cores, the FX-6300 is a better buy (and in the CPU support list).
I have included the Intel CPU just for comparison. Four core CPU with an overall rating almost as good as the 8 core AMD, and the single threaded rating is 50% better. For this though, you need a new motherboard.

Instead of recording in Fraps, why not use ShadowPlay or AMD's new Game DVR stuff in their video card tools? That way you wouldn't have to worry about processor speed so much.

I was under the impression that Minecraft was very single thread performance dependent. If that's actually the case it might actually run slower on the 8320 since it has more cores but they don't perform as well as the Phenom II series. Though the new chip would be at a much higher frequency, I kind of doubt you would actually notice that much of a difference between the two.
