Hello, i have a desktop computer running windows 8. I was trying to convert my gpt hard drive into an mbr hard drive, but i had more than 4 partitions, i then merged a few (can't remember which) and deleted some that i didnt think were essential with a tool called AOMEI Partition Manager or something like that, and rebooted into an endles cycle of rebooting, it starts up, the white dots start spinning (for longer than usual) and then i get a BSOD, i can't find my Windows 8 Disc but what i do have is an old Windows 7 Ultimate disc, but i can't repair with that.

Edit: I also have made a System restore point from recently when the computer was working if it helps

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Bah that's too bad. That's the issue with partitioning. Sometimes, there's something that needs to stay the way it is. Once its changed it can't be undone. Investing in a "OS Drive" and a "Data drive" that are two different physical drives is a good option to prevent data loss in the future. Installing the OS over and over again won't lose data like pictures and movies because they're on a different physical drive all together.

Looks like one of the deleted partitions were necessary for Windows to run. There's no easy way to put those partitions back to normal. Windows 8 installer makes a partition on the boot drive that's about 350MB in size which houses recovery data and boot information for Windows, and that gets deleted accidentally a lot because it just seems to most people like it's wasting space, but it needs to be there. If that partition's been wiped or altered in any way, Windows won't boot. If this is in fact the case, then a reinstall of Windows is really the only way to fix it. You can attempt a recovery from the windows installer, but you mentioned you don't have one. There is a way to get it from Microsoft to put on a USB thumb drive, if you have another computer, you can google "Windows 8 ISO download" and it should bring you to the site. I believe you require the key in order to get it, and then load that ISO to a USB thumb drive and boot from it. You might get lucky and can run recovery and have it work, if not chalk it up as a learning experience

Tried to repair with the installer and the installer's cmd, had no luck, it ended with me reformating my drive and losing all my data that was not backed up at all
