Up to you really. You're not really running at that high a resolution. Both cards are more than capable of handling anything you'll throw at them. Personally, I'm still testing my R9-290 on my 4k screen as well as triple 1080p screens. I haven't tried it on any really high-end games yet like the ones you mentioned but, excepting the 4k screen where it's thrown up a few vertex errors, it's handled everything I've thrown at it so far.
