I knew it'd be fun but this, I was not expecting! So after about two days, in my free time I've put together a list of what I believe will be a rig worth bragging about. It's is my first honest attempt and I feel fairly content with it. Much appreciation to anyone more seasoned who would take a look at what I have here and give me your input. My only concern is the PSU I've come up with using http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp. Does 400W seem a bit scrawny?

Thank you for all your input

For PSU I would go with 500 watts, just to be safe.

2nd, will you be using liquid cooling? If not, consider some other case, like Fractal Design or Corsair Carbide for example.

RAM, get 1600mhz CL9. Should be available for identical price.

For GPU, you could probably get an AMD 270x for almost same price but a bit better performance than 7870.

Comparisons 7870 vs 270x

The 270x is pretty much a rebranded 7870, only on the new architecture.

Cheaper case, bit more for RAM and GPU but pricepoint for whole system should be the same as yours, if not cheaper.

I plan on moving onto liquid cooling which is why I want that case so bad. Unless there is a more urgent reason I shouldn't get it I'll probably stick with it. Thank you on all your other input! Its exactly what i was hoping to get back.

No, stick with the case. Good luck with the watercooling. I had it once, it was fun!
