Hi All! Today I took apart my Asus k53e to repair the DC jack that had broken and the laptop was no longer charging. Once I soltered it back together I continued with reassembling the rest of the computer (it's a laptop). All went good! Computer now charges and everything works fine, except for the syntapics touchpad. I removed the keyboard multiple times to try and fix the ribbon cable but no luck. I have tried the Fn+F9 trick but it didn't work as my touchpad does not even show up under device manager which means it is most likely not functioning at all. When I did check the ribbon cable I noticed it was lose and the cover that is supposed to hold it in is not doing its job (I can easily pull out the cable when the cover is in use). So I come to all of you for answers. I do have experience with technology so don't be shy to give me some complicated instructions. Thanks in advanced, David.

Edit: I would also like to include that the buttons for the touchpad are not working either (those are connected via the motherboard). I have manually tried to install the driver via the Asus website but no luck.

Solution
Replace the touchpad if the clip doesn't hold it in something is broken with the clip you can try to replace that but good luck seems yoy know what th problem is
