Hi, my graphics card (brand new) is a GTX770 2GB but it isnt being detected by my system, ive tried updating the drivers but this resulted in the message that the drivers arent compatiable with anything in my build. But my monitor is connected via the gpu so i assume that it isnt a dud, if anyone has any way i fix the detect issue it would be greatly appreciated.

Solution
ok.

uninstall anything to do with nvidia... anything and everything. if you had an amd/ati graphic card uninstall those drivers/software as well.
reboot your pc
hit f8 while your computer is loading to get the advanced boot menu
load into safe mode with networking.
go to http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Scan.aspx?lang=en-us
let it automatically detect your hardware and drivers

IF it spits an error at you

go here, and manually select your hardware and os
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Scan.aspx?lang=en-uswww.geforce.com/drivers

download and install.

If it still throws an error at you try to CLR_CMOS your mb bios. Sometimes that actually fixes this type of issue (weird i know, but it used to work for me with an old GTX 9800)

that's sorta vague...

1) your monitor is plugged into the gpu not the motherboard io pannel right?
2) what is your system? (motherboard/cpu/psu)
3) which gtx 770 did you get?
4) when you say you tried to install the drivers what specifically did you do?

lots of things could be going on, some things fixable, some not... we'll need more info to know which it is.
