You need
A. Bigger budget.
Or
B. Amd
Most games need atleast 2 cores with plenty pushing off towards quad now and some may begin pushing into hex core territory soon to spend $600 on something practically outdated just doesn't sound right.
You need an extra $100 to go i5 or be willing to go amd.
These people suggested i3 well here is the thing a amd fx 6300 costs about the same but has more future proofing to where gaming is heading plus NEAR all games are multi thread now and the fx 6300 outperforms in this crucial area vs the i3 4330.
Intel is the best for bleeding edge gaming yes.
But
They are not a budget processor company their horrible at bang for buck and if that is what your looking out of them than your looking in the wrong areas.
Sorry.

Today 2 cores w/ ht is a good option for a budget gaming build.
In this gaming build i3-4130 has one job only: It has to deal with the Radeon R9 280. Can i3-4130 do it? Yes.

FX-6300 + good mobo + good cpu cooler are a great option for a budget gaming build too. But you must oc.

Some day 2 cores w/ ht will be a bad option for a gaming build. But you will have a ASRock H97 PRO4 exactly for this contingence: when that time comes, you will have to upgrade your gaming build with i5 or i7.
