I'm building a gaming rig planning to go with i7 4790k.. Regarding the gpu I can even stretch for gtx 780 ti.. But I haven't been gaming for the past couple of years due to the Indian education system... So I will start of with old games..and I mean games released after 2011.. And I will. Be gaming at 1600*900 resolution So can I get a gtx760. Now and upgrade for a gtx 900 series when it releases.. Probably in a 1and half years.. The new games I would be playing would be bf4, assassin's creed black flag, and future nfs.. Watch dogs.. Etc...

BUT I WILL BE MAINLY CONSIDERING GAMES AFTER 2K11 APART FROM THE ABOVE MENTIONED NEW GAMES......SORRY FOR THIS LENGTHIER SEQUENCE..
And thanks in advance... And I want to know will my 4790k support the future gpu..

More about : gtx 760 2yrs 1600 900 resolution gtx 900 series

If you won't do any heavy gaming, it is a good choice. Should handle 1080p for current games and a couple years to come, at decent image quality. Current "best graphics card for the money" would advise AMD over NVIDIA, mostly because they are cheaper at that performance level.

As for the CPU supporting the graphics card, it will. All you need from your CPU is support for the interface the GPU uses. By 2015 PCI-Express 4.0 should be on the market, but historically that is hardly a factor. We have been using PCI-E 3.0 since 2011 and PCI-E 2.0 (2007) is still sufficient for any single card you use.

Intel is supposed to release a new CPU architecture next year (codename: skylake), with SATA Express, PCI-E 4.0 and DDR4 memory. I don't expect any of those to be a game changer, but it bears consideration when you are about to buy a new computer.

Comparing to a GTX 760, that would be an R9 280X.
