Framerate lagging and unexplainable stuttering in Battlefield game

Hi guys,

Here's my problem; whenever I played BF3 or 4 there was a moment where my framerate lagged or it shifted to another frame without animation of a soldier movement and a period where I could not control my character (pressing all the keys, move the mouse around) but the game still progressed for about 1 or 2 sec then another shifting frame appeared!

My rig specs is in the recommendation of the game (core i7, GTX770, 8GB RAM, win 7 ultimate) and can play at over 120fps and I did use framerate lock but it didnt solve the problem (at 60fps the game is just stuttered from frame to frame). All the servers that I joined have stable ping and no packet loss (20-90ping).

I suspected it could be my monitor which is a TV screen (Toshiba 24P2300 at Full HD 60hz) and I have tried both DVI to VGA connection and HDMI connection and it did not help much! I know that TV screen are not meant for PC but it's the only monitor I have for now!

I'm sorry if I posted this question in the wrong thread and please tell me so and thank you for reading and helping me. If you need a video about my problem I will try to capture and send it to you!

Thank you and have a nice day!

Here's my full specs (sorry for not being clear):

Intel Core i7 3770k
Gigabyte GTX770OC 2GB
Cossair Vengeance 8GB
Western 1TB 7200 RPM

I played other games (AS Black Flag, Metro Last Light, Watch Dogs...) and I can set it to ultra with no problems even when playing online but I got problem everytime I play BF3 or 4.

I hope these info help!

Yeah I suspect that might be the case really. I will try to borrow a PC monitor and see if it changes the result.

Thank you for helping me icelock, I will post if there is an improvement in the change!

Good day.

yup icelock I just borrowed an Asus monitor with 120hz and the result is quite better! Monitor might be the case but I still get those framerate lag for 15 minutes in game and it could be the packet loss by the game itself. I guess it is time to invest in a "real" pc monitor then :)! Any suggestion for a $250 budget monitor would be lovely, by the way.

Sorry for not replying to you swifty_morgan, I was just out to get the monitor from my friend, sure I will try what you suggest mate and thank you for helping me.

Thanks mates and have a good day.

Just a note, when a monitor or tv screen runs at 60hz, it CAN NOT display more than 60fps, meaning that if you run a game at higher rate than 60, it will have some micro shuttering. Keep that in mind when choosing a monitor, if you believe you will be able to handle games at 120fps, go for a 120hz one, if not go for a 60hz one.

My opinion is go for a 60hz one, unless you plan to upgrade your system at some point.
