Avoiding dust / pet hair

I am looking into investing in a new system, one that will cost quite a pretty penny. However, I do live in a house full of pets, as well as hardwood floors that don't do much to hold down dust. Is there any way to prevent as much hair / dust from entering the case?

Yes, I know I'll get the jerk saying clean your house... save it.

Anyways, will I be better off with water-cooling and setting all the fans to output, or is it just something I'll have to deal with, and take the case apart on a regular basis to clean it?

Have positive air pressure in your case (more total air intake than exhaust) and install dust filters on every fan.
having negative air pressure will cause your case to suck air in from all the cracks (non-filtered) so always have more intake than exhaust!
