A while ago I was having a lot of trouble with dual monitors. Right now when I turn my computer on it doesn't output to the monitor. The DVD tray opens and closes, if that matters. Pressing numlock or capslock doesn't do anything, but before I reset the CMOS the numlock was on from when I had last shut it down. Another thing unusual is that it shuts down the second I press the power button again.

I'm fairly certain that the problem isn't my graphics card since the problem persists if I connect the monitor to the onboard graphics. So, I'm not sure what to make of this and what I should do.

Solution
1. Try to disconnect all HD's, and remove the graphics card from the PC.

2. Reset the CMOS again.

3. Connect a monitor to the onboard video out (preferably via VGA cable).

4. Then see if you can get any image during boot.

If you do get an image then it should stop somewhere during boot and complain that there is no bootable media. In that case you know it's not irreparably broken.
However if you have no picture now either then the PC might be broken (CPU or motherboard).

If you did get an image then put back the main HDD, and try booting again. If that doesn't work you should try booting from a Windows Install DVD (or bootable USB) and try the repair options.

Several things have to happen for a computer to work. Your processor must work so your motherboard can boot. The graphics card must be working and properly mounted. Your memory must be working. The easiest way to fry CPU is to remove it from the motherboard while it is hot. If you didn't do this it is probably good. If you reached into your computer and caused a short your motherboard could be faulty. If you didn't maybe its not the problem. However bad motherboard will not let onboard video or graphics card work. However, I would reseat the memory first. If the memory isn't seated the computer has no way of drawing on the monitor. Then think about everything else.

Reseated the memory, all is not well. :(

I may have shorted something out, but I don't see how it would've taken so long to affect the computer. I'm also noticing that my motherboard is bending slightly when I push a part in, maybe that could be the problem?

[strike]No image. Does that mean I have an irreparable motherboard?[/strike]

Forgot to remove GPU and reset CMOS. Display works *phew*. I will do what you said and see what happens.
