Will the PSU work in my system?

Solution

Well if you've already got it, it should be fine, but try to upgrade it as soon as possible.
Well that is the XFX TS, and I don't believe that unit is made by Seasonic. I could be wrong though. With the video card that you have picked out, you may want to step up to a 600-650w unit like this one: http://www.ncixus.com/products/?sku=59616&promoid=1215 This one is made by Seasonic, and it will handle your system no problem. It will also leave you enough headroom for GPU+CPU overclocking if you choose to do so. Hope this helps.

Actually the 290 will not use anywhere near 500w of power. That is just the size PSU that AMD recommends as a minumum for the whole system.

All of XFX PSUs are manufactured by Seasonic.

300W (GPU) + 110W (CPU with the OC) + 100W (an approximate for the fans, HDD, SSD, DVD-drive and all the rest)

So yeah, you'd end up using a bit over 500W, but as I said earlier, running the PSU at high loads isn't a good idea. Doing that is very likely to decrease the lifetime of the PSU and you specifically stated that you don't want any issues in the future.

The PSUs ksham and I recommended are good quality, go with either one of those just to be safe.
