As title mentions that I am willing to upgrade my over 3years old rig to a little more up to date specs, I would like to hear your advice. My current specs is as below:

CPU: i7 930
Mobo: Asus P6X58D-E
GPU: Palit GTX 460 1gb SLi
RAM: 6gb
PSU: 850W
Monitor: Crappy 1080p One from Samsung

I'm currently thinking to replace my 460 SLi to a single 780Ti because I don't think my current PSU is sufficient enough for 670/770/780 SLi. I've read articles on single fastest card which handle most games at 1080p with highest settings and most suggest R290X and 780Ti.

I also wish to hear your advice on other parts like CPU and Mobo. Mostly I play games on my Desktop and run maximum 3/4 programs at a time like Chrome, Mail, and Steam + Game. So I think my 6gb RAM won't be much bottleneck for it, right ?
I'm also looking into monitor and it seems Qnix QX2710 is quite popular. I have never tried watching anything beyond 1080p and after working on my new retina macbook pro, I'm quite excited to see how things are drawn on beyond HD screens.

My budget limit is $2000 and lesser is nicer for me unless reasonable performance makes it worth. Please your inputs would be greatly appreciated.

The power supply should be sufficient considering that you've been running sli. If you want SLi then 2x 760's would work. Of course I'm just guessing because I don't know any real information about your PSU. You really don't need to upgrade anything else. Those 1st gen Core i7's are still really good in games. Maybe upgrade your monitor if you want to do that. I suggest a 27 inch Asus monitor.

Thank you for your quick response and the PSU is Cooler Master Silent Pro 850W.
I was thinking about 2x760 but later I change my mind to 780Ti because I heard 780Ti is better handling for ultra HD settings which I'm diving into. But if you really think value (performance per dollar) is quite poor compared to 760 SLi, I will think about it again.
Did you mean this ASUS PB278Q monitor?

That looks like a nice monitor. I didn't have any specific monitor in mind though. The GTX 780 ti is better than SLi 760's. This GTX 780 ti is a really good deal. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125673
