i want to create a 10 gb partition on my 120 gb hd,i followed the instructions via help and support on xp but when the hd is shown,it asks me to right click on the hd and choose create partition.
i right clicked on the long blue line representing my hard drive but get no option to create a partition.
anyone offer any advice or help to sort this out and create a 10gb partition please?

That long blue line is a partition. It seems like you have a 120GB partition on a 120GB drive.

sorry for the delay in replying.
How do i create a separate partition from that 120gb drive?
do i need to use a different way than the usual method described in xp's help as i described above?
thanks.

If you fill up a 120 GB drive with a 120GB partition, then there's no room left to add a 10GB partition.
