Hi,

I have a 2008 model Dell Inspiron 530S, as the name gave away its a very old desktop computer.
I am looking to do some affordable upgrade on motherboard and CPU, but i am really not computer inclined. Preferrably $200 for both CPU and motherboard.

Can someone give me some pointers so to what kind of motherboard/CPU that i should be looking at thats compatible with my current setup (case size and etc)

If i upgrade the CPU and motherboard, does it require to run a higher power supply? 250Watt is what i have now.

thank you

Foxconn G33MO2 is what i have!
I did some research it seems Wolfdale Dual Core Kit, E8600, 3.33GHz, 6MB, 1333FSB, 65W, E0 is the highest i can go.

Now the name imply that its a dual core, do i need to get 2 processors or just one?

no- if its a matx you can go to new egg and look at that and see what board you think you would like then go to the boards cup support list and see what chip you would like to run in it

so for replacing the board with intel theres a lot to look at so you need to kinda know what chip you want to use [socket 1150 is the latest]
