This will be my first time building a PC and I was just wondering if this build is any good. My budget is $900 and i'm looking to play games like Crysis 3, Heavily modded Skyrim, DayZ, Minecraft, etc.

While the PSU is better than what was in the original build, I'd either go for a higher wattage of 600w+ or at least 550w 80+ gold certified.

The XFX 550 is enough.
Why in the hell would he waste his money on a 550W 80+ Gold?
