Custom Build Freezes During OS Install

I'm currently building a high performance PC and I'm have a bit of trouble with it. When I first built it, it worked beautifully, but then the PSU failed. So replaced the PSU and the computer still did not work. So I replaced the mother board and it turned on, but is making me reinstall my OS. And here is where my problem occurs. Windows loads the file and then starts the animation with their symbol and it freezes. At first I let it sit there, but after and hour I figured something was wrong. I've already tried updating the BIOS, but that made things worse. Any ideas?

That's a good PSU, it shouldn't be causing any issues, but even the best PSUs can be faulty. I would disregard trying a new one then. I'm running out of things now, the next two tests would be to test the RAM and try installing to the HDD. You can test the RAM using Memtest86+

This is a long shot, since so many things could be wrong, but when my PC would freeze and crash during booting or installs, I had to lower my RAM speed from 1333 to 800. You can also try changing the command rate to 2T in BIOS.

That's a good sign that your motherboard is working. The next two things to look for are faulty RAM or an overheating CPU. Try installing with only one stick in.

Checking CPU temp is difficult since if it's not transferring heat to the cooler then you won't be able to feel anything on the cooler unless the issue is that you dont have good airflow, which is unlikely. Does your BIOS show CPU temp? If so, leave it in BIOS for a few minutes and report your temp here.

Okay, so when I go to install ubuntu, its almost like the computer loses power, but it doesn't. The flash drive's internal LED stops flashing, and my keyboard is no longer lit up along with the lights on the MB turn off. When I try to install windows, it does what is always has, and freezes right after is extracts the files.

Sounds like a heat or PSU issue. It's hard to measure heat when you can't boot into windows. Sometimes CPUs can run fine at idle but once any form of heat starts generating it may have issues transferring to the heatsink via thermal paste and cause shutdowns. Cooler Master isn't known for their high quality PSUs. If you can, go to a local best buy or any shop that has a free return policy and pick up a PSU. Try to go with the most reliable brand, which is typically still a crappy brand at retail stores.

Pop that PSU in and see if anything changes. Then return it afterwards and post the results here. Its a time consuming task but when you get desperate you gotta do it.

What's the model number of your Cooler Master?
