Hi all, I currently have a Gigabyte Z77 D3h Rev 1.1 MOBO, I'm going to attempt to upgrade a few things...add SSD, a better graphics card, and while I'm at it was thinking of getting a decent MOBO...well newer than this one as it's nearing 3 years old. Can anyone suggest a really nice MOBO....not too fancy just reliable and that will work with my i7-2700k processor.

Looking at spending under £90.

Thanks

Hi, will it have to be another Z77? What do the numbers actually mean? Are there any others you could suggest, that one has a few poor reviews. thanks!

This is a solid choice for a Z77 motherboard.

Or....Asus P8Z77-V LX Motherboard (Socket 1155, 32GB DDR3 Support, ATX, Intel Z77 Express, USB 3.0, CrossFireX Support, Dual Intelligent Processors 3)

Seems to have fantastic reviews on Amazon

The P8Z77-V LX is also a very good choice.

Don't take H97 motherboards, your CPU will not fit in them.

Thanks, could you explain what the numbers etc mean? Just so I can understand why that other board wasn't compatible.

The numbers you're asking to me is actually the motherboard's chipset. The higher the number, the newer the chipset, and the motherboard. These also indicate which processors go in the motherboard's land grid array (LGA). Newer chipset means more features.

For example;
An H57 motherboard, released in 2010, has a bus speed of 2GB/s. Now an H67 motherboard, released in 2011, has 4GB/s, instead of 2. Notice the change in numbers.
