So, just real quick. I'm a super noob with multi-drive systems. I usually only have 1 drive on my PC's because I can never afford another. However, here's the situation:

I have a system that is up & running on an HDD. I am planning on installing my SSD (which should be here soon) as my boot drive.

This is how I was going to do the install: I was basically going to unplug my HDD, plug in the SSD, and install windows on it as you normally would, and then plug my HDD back in.

My concern with that is, won't windows make my SSD into drive C:? My HDD is already my Drive C: so wouldn't that be a problem?

Would I have to change the drive letter on my HDD? If so, how does one go about doing that?

Solution
No; they aren't hardcoded into the drive. The "Drive C" is just Windows mounting the drive into a certain location. So if your SSD is Drive C, you can mount your HDD into Drive F or any other drive letter that is available / unused.
