Plugging in Fans

Sorry, but I am new to computer building, so this might be a dumb question. Where would I plug in my 7 fans? I plan to do push pull on my Corsair H105 Radiators and have some other fan, so is it possible for 2 fans on the radiator to plug into the mobo and the other 2 (+3 around the case) be plugged into my NZXT Sentry 3 fan controller? Ideas/opinions of where to plug each fans would be nice. Thanks!

I will be using the Asus Maximus VII Hero mobo. Here is the full build that I will be using -> http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2yhwkL

First off, welcome to the computer world.
Second off, having more fans doesn't always increase cooling efficiency.
Third off, if you motherboard doesn't have all of the available fan ports you will have to buy a fan controller.

However, I believe the Corsair liquid coolers run off of their own pump. Which removes 2 fans from the equation leaving you with 5. Your motherboard, depending on what brand should have at least 4 ports available. You could get a splitter if you want but it reduces the fans overall RPM, how fast they spin.

You can use a controller motherboard headers , molex power from the supply and even a few fan splitters.

I use these for my case fans:

So basically I can plug them in anywhere to my likings? -> Just saw other posts! Didn't see them at first, but refreshed my page.

Not exactly.

Some ports provide more power than other and some adjust the fan speed based on temperatures.

Yes; you can plug them in wherever.

To expand on what @jkhoward said, there are a few ways to get reduced RPM.
1. Use a PWM (4-pin) fan plugged into the motherboard. The motherboard can then turn down or turn up the fan depending on how hot and intensive you are running your system.

2. Hooked into a fan controller which either monitors and adjusts your fans' RPMs automatically via heat sensors or allow you to manually set their speeds.

3. Hook the fans into a 4-pin splitter and plugged into the motherboard. This means that the motherboard tries to control the speed but the splitter splits it so each fan runs at about half of the speed that the motherboard actually wants them to run at.

4. Use a low-voltage adapter. This sets the fan to run at a fixed voltage.

Few notes:
1. If your fans are 3-pin fans and plugged directly into the motherboard, they will always run at full (12V) speed.
2. If your fans (3-pin or 4-pin) are plugged directly into the power supply, they will always run at full speed.

Thx for the replies! I think that I will have the 5 fans plug into the fan controller because the other 2 on the radiator are plugged into the mobo. Thx!
