I have windows 7 professional (upgrade) and Outlook 2010. Today I tried to clean up email page and deleted email folders under "Favorites". . . not sure why they were there in the first place. When I did it erased ALL of my emails in Outlook. I have a Norton backup file which says emails are in WindowsMail MSMessengerStore. How do I restore them to Outlook.

Solution
It sounds like you are not actually using an Exchange back-end. Outlook is probably setup to delete the message from the email server when you delete them in Outlook.

If you are using GMAIL, YAHOO, or anything else I would open the web browser and log into the mail server that way. Check the deleted items folder and see if they are located there. They should be unless you have another setting in Outlook enabled.

Did you archive the emails?

I learned that when I DELETED the emails in the Favorites folder, I deleted them from the server. Fortunately, I had saved and .ost copy earlier that day on my computer through Norton 360. I have recovered the emails from this .ost file with the assistance of a OST to PST converter from RecoverDataTools.com. This has been a lesson and a nightmare. Thanks for all of your suggestions and help.
