Posted a thread recently about a build but didn't really know what I wanted. I have a better Idea now, and would like some help with a build. I am a college student and would like to build a dual monitor set up. I have a Lenovo laptop that I obviously carry to class and plan on utilizing Google Drive or some other cloud computing type software to transfer files to and from the computers. The computer will be used for school work (powerpoint presentations, financial modeling on excel, research, etc), internet browsing, Itunes, and I plan on eventually getting a subscription to Photoshop CC as a hobby. Do not plan on overclocking

Cpu: I am having trouble deciding which CPU to buy. I do not really think an i7 suits my budget

As far as operating systems go, is windows 7 or 8 the way to go?
I imagine I would also need to purchase additional fans, any suggestions?

This comes out to a total of $613. This was priced via Newegg, and I would probably look on amazon to reduce costs. Am I missing anything? how does this look?

I obviously still would need 2 monitors ( may start with one), and would like a GPU down the road for photoshop. If there any parts that are cheaper, and still just as effective, I would appreciate recommendations. To start, I will likely have to make some trade offs. for example, should I start with 8gb of ram and add a second monitor in the future, or start with less ram and two monitors and add more ram in the future to offset some of the cost?

I appreciate any suggestions and advice.

The build is a solid foundation for your intended use. You might as well go with the upgraded i5-4590 for the same price, though. You may also want to consider a higher quality PSU. The Corsair CX line is their budget line that uses lower quality components inside. The XFX TS Series P1550SXXB9 550W is a high quality PSU that has a promo code going until the 26th where you can get it for $50.99. It also has a $25 mail-in-rebate.
