used hard drive wont boot

Hi, I have 2 dell studio laptops a studio 15 &17. the hard drive in the 17 laptop doesn't work so i took out my 15 hard drive and put it into the 17 laptop and now it wont boot. the 17 hard had the blue death screen and went bad.the 15 hard drive is perfectly fine.i did a factory reset on the 17 laptop with the 15 hard drive in it.what can i do to get it to boot. i also try to run the recovery options but no luck so far

I would try changing the SATA options in the BIOS. You have three options, AHCI, RAID, and IDE. Try changing to each of those and restarting the computer. You may not have raid if it is a newer model..

i tried that it only had 2 modes ata was the second on i think..but now it giving me a error (0x80080005)server execution failed..it wont event let me get past the repair screen and i have no recovery disk :(

So you re-installed Windows on the hard drive from the 15 inch computer and it still doesn't boot in the 17 inch computer?

its almost fixed now lol..now it just wont connect to the internet and the network driver and any other driver wont re-install which mean im def not doing something right..
