i'm building a gaming PC
I've bought the fx 6300 and r9 280x already
i have the corsair vengeance 8 GB ddr 3 and the seagate baracuda 1TB

now i'm looking to buy the ASUS M5A78L-M USB 3

the RAM specifications given for this are 2000(O.C.)/1866(O.C.)/1800(O.C.)/1600(O.C.)/1333/1066 MHz

so can i use my RAM at 1600 Mhz or will it restrict it to 1333 Mhz or does it even matter ?

also this mobo has 3 gb/s SATA conectors

Seagate Baracuda is 6gb/s
will it go well with this mobo.?

Thanks in advance :)

you cannot use ddr2 memory in this MOBO. If you get memory that runs at a higher freq. than 1333 it may run at 1333 until manually configured. The seagate baracuda will run fine with this motherboard.

Yes you can, but you may need to manually configure it to run at 1600, otherwise it will probably only run at 1333.

Yes, you use the bios menus to set the ram speed and timings to match that of the suggested timings for the specific speed.
