I am a total newbie to motherboards so any advice, even very common ones, are very appreciated.
My setup is:
Monitor: ASUS VX238H Black 23" 1ms (GTG) HDMI Widescreen
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236305
Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-H97-D3H LGA
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128712
GPU: GTX 770
CPU: Intel Core i5-4570 3.2GHz LGA

PSU: XFX Pro750
First time self-installing a motherboard today. I removed my GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3 mobo which I had obtained through this computer: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227468. Fairly easy and what I did was remember what I unhooked. After I installed my CPU into this new motherboard I hooked everything back the exact same way according to the names:
- Hooked up ATX 12v 2x4
- Hooked up F Audio
- Hooked up the pins for +PLED, +HD & +PW - RES
- Hooked up 2 Sata3s
and ofc hooked up my PSU to my new mobo.
I've tried my hdmi cable, hdmi to dvi, and dvi cable. The connection remains blank. My monitor had always worked perfectly with my first mobo. It works 100% fine right now with the PS3 that I have currently hooked up to it. So I know it had something to do with the setup I did today. What I believe the problem could be -- Does my new mobo require an additional connection somewhere? Do I need to hook something somewhere else? Did I accidentally damage my new CPU when I tried to install it in my AMD mobo? (I did this last week. Not sure if I damaged it, only the magnet part was touched by the fan. Realized I needed an intel mobo, fast forward to now).
Hopefully I gave all the information I could. I'm really looking forward to completing this 6-month upgrade.
