I think if the price is that different, I put the extra 50$ into other parts maybe. Haswell-R has better TIM but I don't think a 50$ is a good reasoning.
they should ratail at the same price point. if there not then the retailer is gouging you.
if you mean the 4790k then to some yes, if you need the extra threads for 3d/video render/high level productivity, and you cant step up to a hexacore then the hyperthreading quad is worth the money.
if your just a gamer/office monkey doing spreadsheets then no not really.
They are both i5s, same number of cores, no hyperthreading. Also, already have every other part in hand, so I can't improve on any other part of the build. Just wondering if $50 is really worth it for the better TIM. Don't know how much that affects OC.

If you plan to OC anyway, no. If you do not want to touch voltages, then the DC one will be faster (but only because it has a factory OC). Where is the i5 4670k so cheap ?
