LG 50PG20 Plasma TV Unresponsive

I have a 50" Plasma that rarely responds to button presses on the remote or the TV. About 2% of the time it will react to a button press, but that's hardly enough to be considered functional. Any ideas at least for where I should start?

clean the remote...try another set of batteries. make sure the tv sensor not blocked. sunlight and remotes sometime dont mix. also check that there no other older remote near by. some time if they jam button they can cause cross talk. have you tried unplugging the tv letting it drain see if the tv resets or use factory reset. also if there a box or dvd player conencted try unplugging everything see if something backfeeding into the tv. most new tv now have one main logic board. if it started doing it it could be a failing board. if the tv under warranty call in for a repair. also look online see if other people with the same tv have issue. with a lot of newer tv now if it a smart tv it could be a bad flash rom update.

It's not the remote that is the problem, since even the buttons physically on the TV are just as unresponsive. Also, I have looked online for similar problems, didn't find much really. I have let the TV drain, that didn't change anything. Nothing is plugged in to the TV and it is not under warranty.
