pc components dumb question

so i was thinking that amd and nvidia are gpu manufacturers 1st party and asus , evga ,gigabyte all are 3rd party manufacturers now who are 2nd party...dumb question but lets think together

amd and nvidia dont make the cards. they make the gpu chip and the tech (ip). when nvidia and amd are ready to make a new gpu chip they send it out to a chip foundry where they make the waffers. once the defects and bugs are worked out and the yeild is right where amd and nvidia will make money on each waffer made. they cut the wafer up and then test and bin each gpu chip. then they sell the binned gpu chips to asus and other gpu vendors. with the gpu cards there two tyes of cards the stock factory cards that amd and nvidia writes into there licensed agreement that cant be modified. this is so that those cards are not over clocked and amd and nvidia know those wont fail a lot giving people a false impression that there chips are bad. the other card are built on 3 party cooling and power design. these over clock and supper clocked cards have the highest binned chips and larger-est cooler and the biggest price tags. these cards high end gamers go for and hope the card/gpu chip are binned right and will last.
